Each reply must be a minimum of 100 words.
Student will complete weekly assignments within the Cessna/King Schools web-based course. At the end of each section/module within the Cessna/King Schools web-based course, there are questions (multiple choice, fill in the blank, or short answer). These questions will all be based on the content that was presented within the section/module. The student score for this weekly assignment will be based on the percentage of questions answered correctly on the first attempt.
The student will respond to data provided in the format of essay questions. Each response must be a minimum of 100 words.
Students are to use what they have learned and prepare a PowerPoint presentation on a single engine in-flight emergency. This PowerPoint will be narrated by the student and should be at least 4 slides including the following: Define the emergency and the appropriate in-flight actions needed, as well as any post flight action required (if any). This assignment will be submitted to Blackboard.
Students will complete 3 open-book/open-notes quizzes throughout this course. Each quiz will contain 25 multiple-choice questions and have a 2-hour time limit. Questions will come from the practice questions available in the King Schools Commercial web-based course.
Students must schedule a time with an approved testing center in order to take the test.
The student may complete this optional assignment worth zero points. Located within the King Schools Commercial Pilot Course are three practice exams as well as the ability to randomly generate additional practice exams from the question database. These practice exams may help determine if the student is prepared to successfully complete the FAA written exam.
Students will complete an external proctored exam, the FAA Commercial Pilot Airplane Knowledge exam. This exam is required for the Commercial Pilot practical exam and will have a corresponding cost. The student must contact their FTA location for cost and scheduling. If the student is enrolled in a flight course, the student may be able to use the flight lab fee to cover the cost of this test. The student will receive the full point value for successful completion of this test with a 70% grade or better.
Note: Rotorcraft or fixed wing pilots may submit their FAA certificate that is equal to or higher than this course and receive full credit for this assignment.
CAUTION: By receiving certificate/rating-based alternative credit or an alternative final exam option, the student understands that they will not be eligible to receive a Part 141 graduation certificate or participate in the RATP program.
To successfully complete AVIA315 (Commercial Theory Course) and receive a 14 CFR 141 ground graduation certificate, the student must complete all of the training elements included in this course, all the Cessna/King material and the End of Course test must be passed with a minimum score of 70%.
