CSIS 473 Discussion Board Forum

Disucssion Boards are collaborative learning expreinces. Therefore, the student is required to read the article provided and post a thread in response to the provided prompt. The thread must be at least 500 words and demonstrate course-related knowledge. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 2 other classmates’ threads. Each reply must be at least 250 words.

CSIS 473 Article Reviews (2)

The student will conduct research to find 2 project management articles relating to the project management knowledge areas (integration, scope, time, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk, or procurement), and write a report analyzing the article. Each article review must be 3–5 pages and follow current APA format.

CSIS 473 Christian Worldview Research Paper

The student will review the provided article, where the authors discuss the impact of how modernism shapes our beliefs and approaches to ethics in business management information systems and academia. After reviewing the article, the student will conduct additional research. The paper must be at least 2 pages, formatted in current APA formatting.

CSIS 473 Group Project

This project will implement a project management office within an IT department. The project will include the development of a Project Plan and associated sub-plans related to implementing a financial information system, including the selecting, purchasing, and implementing of IT hardware and software. The student will be assigned to a Group Discussion Board in which he/she can collaborate for group work. The groups will be assigned by the instructor and a team leader will be chosen by the group members to submit each assignment.

CSIS 473 Select a Team Leader

Each group will select a Team Leader who will have the responsibility of submitting the group's assignments. That person will then submit a document with their name, the other group members' names, and the sections of the group project that each member has responsibility for completing.

CSIS 473 Charter Exercise

The group in which the student is assigned will develop a Project Charter for the Group Project using a provided template.

CSIS 473 Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)

Using the charter and scope statement documents, each group will develop a Work Breakdown Structure for the Group Project using a provided template.

CSIS 473 Management Plans (2)

The group will develop management plans for specified knowledge areas.

Management Plan 1 must cover Cost and Quality.

Management Plan 2 must cover Human Resources and Communication.

CSIS 473 Plan and PowerPoint

The group will develop a project Plan and PowerPoint presentation for establishing a Project Management Office within an organization. The group will act as consultants and develop a Project Management Office (PMO) for a provided company using the provided template.

CSIS 473 Individual Project (2)

Charter

The student will develop a Project Charter on his/her own for a new company scenario discussed in the Individual Project assignment folder and use a provided template.

CSIS 473 Breakdown Structure (WBS)

Using the Individual Charter, the student will develop a WBS using MS Project on his/her own for the new company scenario discussed in the Individual Project assignment folder.

Individual Research Proposal Paper

Students will propose at least two research designs needed to test the efficacy of the information system they are designing in this class.

CSIS 473 Quizzes (4)

Each quiz will cover the Reading & Study material for the module/week in which it is assigned. Each quiz will be open-book/open-notes, contain 20 true/false and multiple-choice questions, and have a 40-minute time limit.
