CLED 830 Group Discussion Board Forums (4)
For this collaborative discussion board, the instructor will place the student into a group at the beginning of the course. The student is required to provide a thread in response to the provided prompt for each forum. Each thread must be 400 words and demonstrate course-related knowledge. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 2 other classmates’ threads. Each reply must be 200 words.
CLED 830 Literature Map
The student will choose one of the dissertations they read in the course and create a visual map of that literature review (chapter 2 of the dissertation). The student will think of the map as a visual representation of the outline to chapter 2. This could be in the style of a concept or mind map. The student will make sure each literature stream of the review is included visually within the map, and all interrelationships between literature streams/topics that the author noted are represented. There will likely be sub-topics under most topics that also need to be represented in the literature map. The student must include 2 - 3 foundational sources (author and date only) for each literature stream/topic or sub-topic. He/she will also include a title page in current APA format, and the first page prior to the map itself should include the APA formatted reference of the dissertation, dissertation title, research purpose statement, and research questions. The map itself must include the dissertation title and research purpose visually.
Therefore, the final document needs to include a title page, first page with the above stated information included, and then the third page(s) for the map. The assignment can be created within Word or another program useful to these assignment requirements, but must be uploaded to Blackboard either as a Word document or PDF.
CLED 830 Preliminary Outline
The student will create a preliminary outline for his/her literature review. The outline should include the major topics and sub-topics they plan to include. The student must also include 2 - 3 sources for each point on the outline that represents a section of the review they will write. The sources should be written in current APA reference format within the outline. A current APA formatted title page must be included. Also, his/her research purpose and possible research questions must be included on a page prior to the outline. The outline itself should be a minimum of 2 pages (single-spaced).
Alternative: Students that tend to be more visual can choose to do a literature map of their literature review instead of a linear outline described above. If the student chooses this option, he/she will create a visual map of their literature review (chapter 2 of the dissertation). This could be in the style of a concept or mind map. The student will visually represent each of the major topics and sub-topics they plan to include, representing possible interrelationships. Two to three foundational sources (author and date only) must be included for each literature stream/topic or sub-topic. The student must include a title page in current APA format, and the first page prior to the map itself should include the research purpose and possible research questions. The map itself must include the research purpose visually.
CLED 830 Theological Framework Draft
The student will submit his/her draft of the theological framework segment of the Chapter 2 literature review. This segment is part of the requirements of a chapter 2 literature review for a dissertation in the EdD in Christian Leadership, as described in the Program Handbook: RESEARCH PROCESS (DISSERTATION HANDBOOK) section. This part of the draft should be a minimum of 8 pages (double-spaced), with at least 10 academic quality sources (both used with in-text citation and included in a reference page). The draft needs to be reviewed for spelling, grammar, flow of thought, and current APA style prior to submission.
CLED 830 Theoretical Framework Draft
The student will submit their draft of the theoretical framework segment of their Chapter 2 literature review. This segment is part of the requirements of a Chapter 2 literature review for a dissertation in the EdD in Christian Leadership, as described in the Program Handbook: RESEARCH PROCESS (DISSERTATION HANDBOOK) section. This part of the draft should be a minimum of 8 pages (double-spaced), with at least 10 additional academic quality sources (both used with in-text citation and included in a reference page). The previous written segment must also be included in the submission. In other words, students are building one overall draft of their Chapter 2 literature review. The draft needs to be reviewed for spelling, grammar, flow of thought, and current APA style prior to submission.
CLED 830 Related Literature/Rationale Draft
The student will submit his/her draft of the related literature, rationale for the study, and gap in the literature segments of their Chapter 2 literature review. These segments are part of the requirements of a Chapter 2 literature review for a dissertation in the EdD in Christian Leadership, as described in the Program Handbook: RESEARCH PROCESS (DISSERTATION HANDBOOK) section. This part of the draft should be a minimum of 15 pages (double-spaced), with at least 20 academic quality sources (both used with in-text citation and included in a reference page). The student must include an introduction and conclusion for the overall Chapter 2 literature review. The previous written segments must also be included in the submission. In other words, the student will build one overall draft of his/her Chapter 2 literature review. The culmination of this assignment, coupled with the previous submitted drafts, will be a completed first draft of his/her literature review, which is chapter 2 of the dissertation. The draft needs to be reviewed for spelling, grammar, flow of thought, and current APA style prior to submission.
