Discussion boards are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student will create a thread in response to the provided prompt for each forum. Each thread must be at least 250 words, demonstrate course-related knowledge, and be supported with at least 1 citation in current APA format. In addition to the thread, the student will reply to the threads of at least 2 classmates. Each reply must be at least 100 words.

PACO 687 Group Discussion Board Forums (3)

For this collaborative discussion board, the instructor will place the student into a group at the beginning of the course. The student will create a thread in response to the provided prompt for each forum. Each thread must be at least 250 words, demonstrate course-related knowledge, and be supported with at least 1 citation in current APA format. In addition to the thread, the student will reply to the threads of at least 2 classmates. Each reply must be at least 100 words.

PACO 687 Counseling Research Project

This assignment will assist the student in gaining valuable information and resources on several issues women may bring into counseling. This assignment will consist of a topic selection and 2 main parts, Part A and Part B.

Part A: The first main part of the Counseling Research Project is the research paper. The student will select an instructor-approved topic of his or her choice and then research the topic as preparation for teaching a potential workshop to fellow counselors. The paper must be 10–12 pages, include 10–12 scholarly sources, and follow current APA format.

Part B: The second main part of the Counseling Research Project is the presentation handout that the student will create to serve as an outline of the project that he or she could present to fellow counselors. This handout must be 2–4 pages. The student must address the main points of the Counseling Research Project, incorporate at least 5 sources, and follow current APA format.

PACO 687 Reflective Journal Assignment

This assignment will provide an opportunity for the student to evaluate his or her journey through the developmental stages and transitions in life, and also to reflect on how the impact of these transitions may help or hinder his or her work in the helping profession. This assignment must be 3–6 pages and integrate concepts learned from the course materials, as well as personal research from at least 1 additional scholarly source outside of the course materials. Current APA format must be followed.

PACO 687 Exams (2)

The student will complete 2 exams that will cover the course readings and presentations. Each exam will be open-book/open-notes, contain 25 multiple-choice and true/false questions and 2 essay questions, and have a time limit of 2 hours.
