Discussion boards are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to create a thread in response to the provided prompt for each forum. Each thread must be 350-450 words and demonstrate course-related knowledge. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 2 other classmates’ threads. Each reply must be 150-250 words. The discussion board assesses Competency 2-Diversity (knowledge), Competency 3-Justice (values, knowledge, cognitive/affective processes), Competency 4-Research (knowledge), & Competency 5-Policy (knowledge, values, cognitive/affective processes).

The student will provide a 1−2-page outline using the SWOT Analysis Table to prompt a general analysis of the local community including at least 1 local church. The student must provide at least 3 references using current APA formatting. The student will write a 3-5 page research-based paper in current APA format that focuses on strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats assessment (SWOT) of their community of origin based on Community Assessment: Topic and Sources created in Module/Week 2. This written summary of the SWOT analysis will be used as an advocacy tool for planning and implementing changes in the local community. The paper must include at least 3 references, including assigned text, and provide a detailed focus specific to how local churches have or have aided in the community based upon the assessment. The paper assesses Competency 1-Ethics/Prof. Behavior (values, cognitive/affective processes), Competency 2-Diversity (knowledge), Competency 3-Justice (values, knowledge, cognitive/affective processes), Competency 4-Research (knowledge), & Competency 5-Policy (knowledge, values, cognitive/affective processes).

The student will provide a 1-2 page outline on a global social problem that is currently impacting our world and at least 2 strategies of change that can advance social and economic justice. At least 1 paragraph that addresses the general demographics of the community (i.e. population, race/ethnicity, etc.) must be included, as well as at least 5 references using current APA formatting. The paper assesses Competency 1-Ethics/Prof. Behavior (values, cognitive/affective processes), Competency 2-Diversity (knowledge), Competency 3-Justice (values, knowledge, cognitive/affective processes), Competency 4-Research (knowledge), & Competency 5-Policy (knowledge, values, cognitive/affective processes).

The student will provide a 5–10-minute presentation using Kaltura. The presentation will discuss a global social problem that is currently impacting our world and strategies of change that can advance social and economic justice using a biblical perspective. The student must demonstrate an understanding of the forms and mechanisms of oppression and discrimination that influence this issue. The presentation assesses Competency 1-Ethics/Prof. Behavior (values, cognitive/affective processes), Competency 2-Diversity (knowledge), Competency 3-Justice (values, knowledge, cognitive/affective processes), Competency 4-Research (knowledge), & Competency 5-Policy (knowledge, values, cognitive/affective processes).
SOWK 410 Quizzes (7)
Each quiz will cover the Reading & Study material for the module/week in which it is assigned. Each quiz will be open-book/open-notes, contain 10 multiple-choice, and have a 15-minute time limit. The quizzes assess Competency 2-Diversity (knowledge), Competency 3-Justice (values, knowledge, cognitive/affective processes), Competency 4-Research (knowledge), & Competency 5-Policy (knowledge, values, cognitive/affective processes).
SOWK 410 Final Exam
The Final Exam will cover chapters 1-14 and the required articles. This exam will contain 50 multiple-choice questions and have a time limit of 1 hour and 30 minutes. The final exam assesses Competency 2-Diversity (knowledge), Competency 3-Justice (values, knowledge, cognitive/affective processes), Competency 4-Research (knowledge), & Competency 5-Policy (knowledge, values, cognitive/affective processes).
