BIBL 471 Discussion Board Forums (3)
There will be 3 Discussion Board Forums throughout this course. Discussion boards are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to provide a thread in response to the provided topic for each forum. Each thread must be at least 250 words and demonstrate course-related knowledge in current Turabian format as well as include 2 different resource references. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 2 other classmates’ threads. Each reply must be at least 100 words. (MLO: B, C, E, F)
BIBL 471 Short Report
The student will write a 4–5-page research-oriented paper in current Turabian format that focuses on the debate over the northern and southern location of Sodom, represented by Dr. Steven Collins (northern view) and Dr. Bryant Wood (southern view). The paper must include at least 6 resources. (MLO: A, B, D, E)
BIBL 471 Excavation Report
The student will conduct an online search for a contemporary archaeological excavation site and write an approved 4–5-page report that contains the following information: introduction with thesis statement, the historical background of the archaeological site (including history of previous archaeological excavations, if any), objectives of the current archaeological excavation, archaeological progress at the site (from the beginning of the discovery to present excavation), and the significance of discoveries to biblical studies. The student will choose from a list of approved sites. The paper must be in current Turabian format and include at least 6 sources. (MLO: A, B, C, D, E, F, G)
BIBL 471 Research Paper
The student will write an 8–10-page research-oriented paper in current Turabian format that focuses on an approved topic related to archaeology. The paper must include at least 6 sources in addition to the course textbooks and the Bible. (MLO: A, B, C, E, G)
BIBL 471 Quizzes (8)
Each quiz will cover the Reading & Study material for the module/week in which it is assigned. Each quiz will be open-book/open-notes, contain 10 multiple-choice and/or true/false questions, and have a 30-minute time limit. (MLO: A, B, C, E, F, G)
