AVIA 215 Discussion Board Forums (2)
Discussion boards are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to create a thread in response to the provided prompt for each forum. Each thread must be at least 250 words and demonstrate course-related knowledge, and integrate at least 1 biblical principle. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 2 other classmates’ threads. Each reply must be at least 100 words.
AVIA 215 Essay Questions (2)
The student will respond to the provided Essay Question prompt. Each response must be at least 150 words.
AVIA 215 Project - Cross Country Flight Plan
Students will plan a VFR Cross Country from their local airport to a destination at least 50nm away. The destination must be one they have never planned a cross country to before. The student will use the navigation log provided in the Cessna Course Library, or as provided by their FTA. The assignment must include weather, NOTAMS, airport information, check points, wind corrections, frequencies, and flight plan information. The written informatin must be legible. The completed Navigation Log and other information will be scanned and uploaded to Blackboard.
AVIA 215 Quizzes (4)
Each quiz will cover the Reading & Study material for the assigned modules/weeks. Each quiz will be open-book/open-notes, contain 20 multiple-choice and true/false questions, 2 essay questions, and have a 1-hour and 30-minute time limit.
AVIA 215 FAA Private Pilot Written Exam Scheduled.
Written Exam Practice Tests
Students will complete three practice exams within the Cessna/King Schools Course. On completion of three successful tests with a score of 90% or better on each exam, the student will request an endorsement from their professor (if not provided by local instructor) to take the FAA Written Exam.
AVIA 215 FAA Private Pilot Written Exam Submission
Students will complete an external proctored exam, The FAA Private Pilot Knowledge exam. This exam is required for the Private Pilot practical exam and will have a corresponding cost. Please contact your FTA location for cost and to schedule. If you are enrolled in a flight course, you may be able to use your flight lab fee to cover the cost of this test. The score that you receive on your written exam will correspond directly to the point value you receive on the exam plus 50 points.
Example:
If you score 80% on your FAA Knowledge Exam
(80% of 400 points = 320 + 50 = 370 Points)
AVIA 215 Part 141 Graduation Certificate
To successfully complete AVIA215 (Private Pilot Theory Course- Part II) and receive a 14 CFR 141 ground graduation certificate, the student must complete all of the training elements included in AVIA210 (Private Pilot Theory Course – Part I) and AVIA215. Additionally, the End of Course test must be passed with a minimum score of 70%.
NOTE- In unique circumstances, an alternative to the FAA Written Exam may be substituted:
Rotorcraft or fixed wing pilots may submit their FAA certificate that is equal to or higher than this course and receive full credit for this assignment.
For UAS Minors who will not be pursuing a Private Pilot Certificate, an alternate final exam will be offered. Students should provide authorization from the UAS program director
For students that are working with their FTA flight instructor to take the FAA exam at a later date.
CAUTION: By receiving certificate/rating-based alternative credit or an alternative final exam option, the student understands that they will not be eligible to receive a Part 141 graduation certificate and it may affect your ability to participate in the RATP program.
