Minooka wanted to start the season right and they did with an impressive win over Andrew 12-0, but over the season they played rival Plainfield South 3 games in a row and won each game scoring 18 runs over 3 games and only letting up 1 run. Going into the playoffs Minooka was hot winning their last 6 games of the season. Minooka steam rolled through their first three playoff games. Minooka was in the sectional finals before losing to O’Fallon 9-6.  After the game on the bus ride home, pitcher Mike Foltynewicz received a phone call from the Houston Astros letting him know he had been drafted.
