2002 Girls Cross Country

The members of the 2002 girls cross country include (front row) Kelly Caruso Megan McDonald, Jennifer Rapp, Angela Chignoli, Jill Erwin; (second row) Katie Hofer, Jessica Bahr, Erica Norton, Nohemi Herrera, Maegan Zarley, Nichole Salazar, Shalinli Gogawale, Misty Gettys, Kim Mason, assistant coach Matt Thomas, head coach Kevin Gummerson, Cassie Walker, and Stephanie Pieczynski.

The girls 2002 cross country team was the first ever to qualify for the IHSA State Finals.  Led by Erica Norton, who won the conference meet, the finished 4th at the Wheaton North sectional to qualify for state.  Minooka also won the conference meet and the regional that year.  Norton was MVP, Katie Hofer was most improved, sportsmanship went to Angie Chignoli, and the Phedippides award went to Maegan Zarley for having a never-say-die attitude.
