Conference Record 20-4

Having a 25+ winning game season is always Minooka’s goal every year and 1996-1997 was one of them. The team finished strong with 30 wins in the overall season and sweeping big rivals all 3 games, Oswego, and Batavia, and  never losing a single season to anyone in conference. Minooka lost to Joliet Catholic in the regional semifinal game.  Co-MVPs for the season were Nick Offerman and Chris Basak. Mike Schmidt was Most Improved, and Justin Kaye took home the sportsmanship award.  Basak signed to play with the University of Illinois.  He was also later drafted by the New York Mets in 2000 and played in five games for the New York Yankees in 2007.
