Final Meet: 11th at IHSA Sectional
Season Summary
Competing on the Morris Co-Op team, Minooka girls added significantly to the swimming and diving team in 2024.
They finished 4th at the Shepard Barb Larson Invitational and 2nd and the IMSA Titan Invitational.
Penelope McCollom was 5th in diving at Shepard. Caitlin Van Acker was 3rd in the 100 breast stroke, Audrey James was 4th in the 100 fly, and Jena Lopina was 3rd in the 100 free and 4th in the 50 free.
At the IMSA Titan Invitational, the team finished 2nd. The 200 free relay of Lopina, Van Acker, Paige Swanson, and James took first. Lopina took first in the 50 free and Van Acker won the 100 breast stroke.
At the SPC Championships, Alyssa Jarman was 5th in diving, Van Acker was 5th in the 100 breast stroke, and Lopina was 5th in the 50 freee and 6th in the 100 free.
Injuries kept a few of the girls from competing in the sectional at Lincoln Way-Central, where Morris Co-Op finished 11th.
