Final Meet: 4th at Regionals
Season Summary
The varsity wrestling team continued to gain steam throughout the year. Their most dominant win was over Bolingbrook, 59-6.
They went 4-1 at the DeKalb Flavin Invite and 3-1 at the Kenny Zabel Duals.
Minooka was 6th at the Joliet Central Invite, 9th at the Hinsdale Central Whitlach Invite, and 3rd in the SPC Championship.
Key wrestlers such as Santino Capodice, Kaden Meyer, and Robbie Murphy, played huge roles and picked up some major wins and points for the Indians in their season.
Later in the year the Indians finished 4th at regionals. Noah Avina (120 lbs.), Mason Vogt (138 lbs.), Meyer (165 lbs.), AJ Frescura (175 lbs), Capodice (190 lbs.), and Murphy (285 lbs.) all qualified for sectionals as individuals.
Murphy would be the lone wrestler advancing from sectionals to the IHSA State Finals in Champaign.
