Final Race: Maya Ledesma finishes 4th at IHSA 3A State Finals
Season Summary
The 2024 Minooka girls cross country team started their championship phase of the season by winning conference, regionals, and sectionals.
Senior Maya Ledesma was Minooka's fastest runner. She broke the all-time girls record at Ron Lehman Community Park first at the conference meet, and then again at regionals, where she ran a time of 16:54.60 in winning that race.
A week later, Ledesma would lead the girls to a victory at the sectional at Maxwell Park in Normal where the girls advanced to the state finals.
At state, the girls raced on a wet course and finished 6th with the 3rd lowest point total in program history. Ledesma would finish 4th, earning all-state honors. Sophomore Natalie Nahs just missed all-state honors by finishing 26th.
