The 1996-1997 team had the best season to date in Minooka history. In the first round of the class 4A playoffs, they beat Morris in a memorable overtime game. Then they continued to win, eventually reaching the semifinals -- just one game away from the championship game. The MVP that year was Gabe Sheets-Poiling. With every team you need a solid offensive line, MVP lineman was Mike Baytala. The MVP Back was Ryan Koerner. The most improved player was Pat Holls
