The 2019 varsity boys soccer season had plently of highs and lows throughout the season. The boys started off the season hot, going 4-1-1. The offense was rolling in the first 6 games, scoring 18 goals in the first 6 games, and they made a statement to the rest of the state beating their rivals, Normal Community 1-0 at home. The boys were then struck with several injuries throughout the middle of the season, one of which being star midfielder, Ryan Felgenhaur as he was out for 15 games with a knee injury. The boys struggled after Felgenhaur went out, going 0-4 in their next 4 games. Although the struggles, head coach Nate Spriggs proved to have a deep bench, as they ultimately ended up finishing the season 13-9-1 in the regular season. As the postseason began, the team would have their full starting 11 back in the lineup since the 10th game of the season. The team took on Pekin in the first round and they made a statement that they could make a run in the postseason as they throttled them 6-0. The team then took on Moline in the regional championship and ended up losing 2-1 in a game that they had dominated all game long but ended up falling short. The team would have two players being awarded all-sectional in Blake Brandenburg and Ben Joder. The previous spring, dugouts were built on the north part of Central Campus near the pond so more games could be played at that area.
