Girls Athletic Club

Girls Athletic Club

During a time when females were not allowed to participate in organized high school sports, Minooka offered the Girls Athletic Club (GAC).  In many high schools, the Girls Athletic Association (GAA) existed to allow girls to play a variety of sports.  It was sponsored by the IHSA.  After Title IX was passed in 1972, many schools started having their own sports for girls.  The need for GAC at Minooka was lessened once these girls sports finally began.
