The 2020 season was supposed to be the first with West Aurora joining Minooka and the other Southwest Prairie Conference schools. The conference champ would be determined by the overall best record. Unfortunately, the season was initially put on hold on March 13 when Illinois Governor JB Pritzker ordered schools closed for two weeks because of the coronavirus pandemic. The order was then extended before later declaring school buildings would remain closed for the rest of the academic school year. On April 21, the IHSA officially cancelled all spring sports tournaments.
