Final Game: Loss in regional quarterfinals
Season Summary
In 2025 for the first time in school history, Minooka fielded a flag football team.
Girls had a camp at the school during the summer to get acquainted with the new sport. After tryouts in August, the varsity fielded mostly team of nearly all juniors and seniors. Most freshmen and sophomores played on the JV team, which ended the season with an undefeated record.
The varsity season ended with a record of 3-12, and the girls improved tremendously. The team’s first big win was against Plainfield East, 16-0. They also beat Rosary and Larkin.
They played Oswego three different times during the season. They lost the first two games, and the third was in the regional. Minooka fought hard and lost a close game to the Panthers in the regional to end their season.
Sophomore Savannah Mwaba was the leading scorer for team throughout the season. Although the girls lost more games than winning, they did a great job being confident in themselves and working on their mistakes everyday after school.
