The 1965-66 basketball team started slowly, losing 7 of their first 10 games. They finished 4th in the Plano Holiday Tournament. Once the New Year started, they started putting together some victories. They won the Coal Valley Conference tournament; Craig Mann was named the tournament MVP. In February, Minooka beat Gardner, Lisle, and CoalCity in a row. They won the first game of the district tournament against Serena before losing to Somonauk in the semifinals.
