Winning State was the goal for the wrestling for the 1996-1997 season as a team. This goal came up a little short . The Minooka Indians were very close to their goal with multiple individual State qualifiers in 103 Tim Nilles, 125 Bill O’Connor, 145 Mike Morris. The team had 7 All- Conference Wrestlers. The team finished 2nd in conference and won the regional. They beat Marian Catholic in the first round of sectionals before losing to Providence, the eventual state champion.
