The 1976-77 varsity football team had a successful season of 5-4. With finishing 4-3 in the conference, they had their ups and downs, but they were successful having 5 wins. Two players won the most valuable player of the season: Brad Immel, and Mark Mitchell. Dan Hadaway won the sportsmanship award, Bruce Miller won the most valuable back, and Dennis Geiss was named most valuable lineman.
