Themed Name Design

Objectives:

I will create block or bubble letters using light sketching techniques.

I can transform letters into recognizable objects based on a theme that will create unity within my work making it all look as if it goes together

I will be able to demonstrate creativity by developing a cohesive visual theme creating a sense of unity within my work

I will apply color thoughtfully to enhance my design.

I will use outlining and refinement techniques to improve clarity.

Vocabulary:

Block Letters – Straight-edged, geometric letters used for clear structure
Bubble Letters – Rounded, inflated letters often used for playful designs
Composition – How elements are arranged on the page
Creativity – Using imagination to make original artwork
Design – The overall plan or organization of an artwork
Negative Space – The empty space around and between objects
Outline – The outer edge or border of a shape or letter
Refine – To improve or clean up a drawing
Theme – The main idea or subject of the artwork
Unity – When all parts of the artwork work well together
