Layered Bugs

Objectives:

I can use cardboard to create a bug adding depth with layers

I can add features for my bug by breaking them down into the shapes for each part starting with the base shape

I can add some texture with my scissors, especially hair or antennae with smaller snips

I can add dry brush shading to enhance the look of depth

Vocabulary:

Depth- showing space in within a work of art; how far back things go from the viewer

Dry Brush- a process where you load the brush with the color that you will be using, then brush it off onto a paper towel before using it to add shadows or highlights to your work by painting lightly around the edges or any areas that would have a shadow or highlight

Outline- creating a border around what you see, showing the outside edge of an area

Pattern- repeating an element such as a line, shape, or color
