One Point Perspective: modified

Objectives you will be graded on:

* I will demonstrate an ability to create 3-dimensional forms and letters through the use of one point perspective

* I will demonstrate the ability to create perspective lines to the letter from each shape and letter

* I will demonstrate the ability to create the look of depth with parallel lines that cut off the shape or letter

* I will demonstrate the ability to neatly add color or shading

I will show an understanding of the vocabulary for this unit through their application on my work of art:

Depth- showing how far back in terms of space something goes

Form- An Element of Art, that is a 3Dimensional version of a shape because it has height, width, and depth; adding depth makes it 3 dimensional

One Point Perspective- A technique used in art to portray a three-dimensional form on a two-dimensional surface. We know that our shapes and letters are in one point perspective because the perspective lines ALL go toward ONE single point called the vanishing or perspective point.

Parallel Lines- Two lines that will always be the same distance apart and never touch. These would be the top and bottom of the buildings that were drawn.

Perspective Lines- Lines that are headed toward the vanishing or perspective point. They help to create the look of a 3D building. These would be the side of the buildings that were drawn.

Perspective Point- The point that all perspective lines lead to; there is one perspective point in one-point perspective, two in two point perspective, etc. Also called a vanishing point.

Vanishing Point- The point that all perspective lines lead to; there is one perspective point in one-point perspective, two in two point perspective, etc. Also called a perspective point.
