Chameleons
Objectives you will be graded on:
* I will demonstrate an ability to create a drawing of a chameleon based on photos (break it down into basic shapes and build them together to create the chameleon)
* I will demonstrate the ability to create a good composition by using the entire space given to me
* I will demonstrate the ability to add implied texture by adding various line patterns within each section
* I will demonstrate the ability to add contrast by using one color and filling in areas vs. leaving a line drawing
* I will demonstrate the ability to neatly draw and add color
I will show an understanding of the vocabulary for this unit through their application on my work of art:
Composition- the arrangement or placement of the visual elements within a work of art; where you put things on your paper; in this project, you need to make use of the ENTIRE space
Contrast- a principle of design that refers to the arrangement of opposite elements, in this case light vs. dark, to create excitement and interest
Implied Texture- texture that you can see how something would feel but you are unable to actually feel the texture because it is just drawn
Patterns- an element of art that refers to an underlying structure that repeats a unit of line, shape, color, form, etc.
Real Texture- texture that you can see how something would feel and you are able to feel it as well
Texture- an element of art that refers to the perceived surface quality of an object; showing how something would feel if you were to touch it.
