Birch Tree Watercolors
Objectives:
I can demonstrate an ability use good composition to fill my page with birch trees
I can demonstrate an ability to create birch trees using only one color but many values of that color by controlling the amount of water I use and layering my colors
I can demonstrate an ability to use control while I paint with watercolors to create multiple layers and values
I can demonstrate an ability to use multiple brush sizes to create different looks within my painting
Vocabulary:
Composition- how and where you place things on your paper; making use of the entire space given
Pigment- the coloring component of paint; in this case it is what you see when you open up your watercolor tray. When you add the water to the pigments, you will create the watercolors
Values- the lightness or darkness of a color
Watercolors- solid cakes of baked pigments that when added with water are used to add color that is usually light but can be layered to create darker values
