Objectives:

I can demonstrate the ability to use good composition to create a drawing that fills the entire page

I can demonstrate the ability to use more than one value of a color in each section

I can demonstrate the ability to create highlights and shadows with those multiple values

I can demonstrate the ability to show distance and space through the use of overlapping and placement

Vocabulary:

Composition- where you put things on paper, using the entire space

Distance- shows how far back in space an object goes; it shows the relationship between close and far, forward and back

Highlights- an area where the light is reaching an object

Overlapping- placing one object in front of another object, this shows distance as it shows what is in front and what is behind, you will see all of the object in the front but you will not see all of the object in the back as it is partially blocked

Shadows- an area where the light is not reaching the object, or where the light is blocked from reaching an area

Space- an element of art that deals with the area around and within shapes and forms

Value- an element of art that deals with how light or dark a color is
