Graffiti Names

Objectives:

I can demonstrate the ability to create my name in a decorative way such as a graffiti style

I can demonstrate the ability to use good composition to create spacing within my work that has room for the entire name but also uses the overall space well

I can add paint that transitions from one color to another by blending colors while wet

Vocabulary:

Blending- gently intermingling two or more colors

Composition- the organization of the elements within a work of art; how you use the space available to you; where you put things 

Graffiti- a form of visual communication usually created in public spaces; usually illegal as it involves the unauthorized marking of public space; this type of art is slowly transitioning as the art form is being recognized and artists get permission to create their works

Transitions- a gradual change from one thing to another; in this work of art we are transitioning slowly from one color to another by mixing with wet paint directly on the piece
