Dream Catcher

Objectives:

I can identify a dreamcatcher

I can create the web following the technique shown

I can add a bead to represent the spider

I can add feathers that will allow the good dreams caught in the web to filter down to the one sleeping below

I can demonstrate a knowledge of the history of dreamcatchers

Vocabulary:

Dreamcather- a sculpture in Native American history that was created to catch the bad dreams of those who place them above their beds

Red Willow- the material used to create the frame of the dreamcatcher

Sinew- a fibrous brand of tissue, traditionally a tendon but now is more of a waxy string
