Cup Still Life Drawing

Objectives:

I can demonstrate the ability to draw a still life

I can demonstrate the ability to create proportion between multiple objects

I can demonstrate the ability to show overlapping within my work

I can demonstrate the ability to show both shading and shadows

I can demonstrate the ability to show space through drawing

Vocabulary:

Overlapping- to draw something that looks as if it goes in front of another object

Proportion- showing the relation of size to an object or its parts

Shading- showing how light source touches an object; every cup will have some form of shading, the shading will gradually go from dark to light

Shadows- showing how a light source is blocked from touching an object by another object creating a darker area; not every cup may have a shadow, a shadow may have a distinct difference between dark and light

Space- the space around, between, or within objects

Still Life- a work of art based on a group of inanimate objects placed together in a way that shows the space in, around, or between its parts
