2 Pt. Letters

Objectives:

I can draw a letter and create a shadow in two point perspective

I can demonstrate the ability to use a vanishing point to create the look of depth

I can demonstrate the ability to use perspective lines to create all horizontal lines within my letter

I can demonstrate the ability to use parallel lines to create all vertical lines within my letter

I can identify a light source by adding shading to one side of my letters

Vocabulary:

Horizontal- Lines that go across

Parallel Lines-  Two lines that remain the same width apart forever.  They will never touch.

Perspective Lines-  Two lines that are heading to a single point on the horizon.

Vanishing Point-  The point on a horizon that which something that is growing increasingly small disappears when in perspective; this point allows you to see distance on a flat surface as everything disappears as it gets closer to that point showing how far away something is; this is what allows us to create a sense of depth

Vertical- Lines that go up and down

2 Pt. Perspective-  The ability to show two parallel lines as if they were going off in the distance.  Two point shows both sides as if looking at a corner; this unit is showing two point perspective.

1 Pt. Perspective-  The ability to show two parallel lines as if they were going off in the distance.  One point shows a single point where all things would disappear on the horizon.  Usually from a frontal view.
