Mini Coil Containers

Objectives: 

I can demonstrate that I can create a secure coil pot    

I can demonstrate that I understand how to securely attach multiple pieces through scoring and the addition of slip

I can demonstrate that I can create a simple, repeated design

I can demonstrate the ability to create a lid for my coil container   

Vocabulary:

Coil Pot- a form of pottery that creates a container by building up layers of clay coils

Slip- really wet clay that is in liquefied form that is used to bind two pieces of clay together; used with scoring; like glue for clay

Scoring- lines scratched into the surface of clay; like velcro; that helps to attach two pieces of clay securely together when used with slip

Contrast- the arrangement of opposite elements; such as the balance of lights vs darks within a work of art
