Optical Illusion

Objectives:

I can demonstrate the ability to create a basic optical illusion

I can demonstrate the ability to measure even spacing using a ruler

I can demonstrate an understanding of positive and negative

I can demonstrate an understanding of contrast

Vocabulary:

Contrast- A Principle of Art that deals with the arrangement of opposite elements.  Such as the balance of light and dark.

Measurement- an exact amount of space calculated with a tool such as a ruler; example: create one inch sections....

Negative Space- the space around and within the subject of an image, the area that "isn't there"

Optical Illusion- a style of abstract art where lines, forms, and space create visual movement by creating advancing and receding space on a flat surface

Positive Space- the space that contains the object or subject itself
