Pointillism Painting
Pointillism- A technique of painting in which a lot of tiny dots are combined and overlapped to form a composition.
Collaboration- working together to create something
Complementary colors- colors directly opposite each other on the color wheel
Intensity- The brightness, or pureness of a color/hue. **The highest intensity is the color directly from the bottle**
Hue- the color
Value- the lightness or darkness of a color
Shadow- an area of an object receiving less light
Highlight- an area of an object receiving more light
I can demonstrate the painting style of pointillism.
I can demonstrate change in intensity, hue, and value.
I can demonstrate the use of shading and highlights without blending colors.
Examples of famous Pointillism Paintings:
Georges Seurat - "A Sunday on La Grande Jatte" 1884
Paul Signac - "The Chȃteau des Papes, Avignon" 1912
