Layered Mask Designs
Objectives:
I can demonstrate the ability to create a mask design using multiple layers of colored paper
I can demonstrate an understanding of symmetry
I can demonstrate the ability of using at least 3 paper techniques
I can demonstrate the ability to add glue so that at least some of the details that I add are sticking off from the background
Vocabulary:
Accordion Fold- A fold that is folded backwards then forward, then backwards, then forward
Curling- using your scissors, you pull the paper along the scissor's edge, this will allow your paper to curl
Folding- taking one end of the paper and pulling it over to another edge, then creasing
Fringe- cutting one side of the paper evenly spaced with an even length; looks similar to a comb
Layering-placing one piece of paper on top of another one
Mask- an object normally worn on the face or with the intention of being a face covering; it is usually worn to disguise or for entertainment
Pleat- folding a piece of paper similar to the accordion fold but one end is folded into a single triangular edge
Quilling- using small strips of paper and curling them tightly to create a tight coil that can be used as part of a design
Symmetry- it is the same on both sides; one side is a mirror image of the other side
