Color Schemes- groups of colors that are placed together, usually in relation to how they are placed on a color wheel

Horizontal Lines- lines that go across the paper

Movement- The placement of elements (in this case simple lines) that implies the passage of time. A way to lead the viewers eye across and through the work of art often to the focal point.

Rhythm- A combinations of elements repeated with variations. A principle of design that is created by the careful placement of repeated elements in a work of art to cause a visual tempo or beat

Value- the darkness or lightness of a color

Vertical Lines- lines that go up and down on the paper
