Objectives:
Students will identify the three primary colors—red, yellow, and blue—and explain why they are important in creating other colors.
Students will be able to explain how secondary colors are created by mixing two primary colors together.
Students will create a six-section color wheel using only the three primary colors and Q-tips to apply paint as dots.
Students will demonstrate color mixing by layering or combining dots of two primary colors to create the secondary colors: orange, green, and violet/purple.
Students will demonstrate craftsmanship and understanding of color relationships by arranging the primary and secondary colors correctly around the color wheel in color wheel order and applying paint carefully with Q-tip dots.
