Objectives:
Students will create and manipulate digital shapes and lines in Google Drawings by using tools such as the shape, line, polyline, and curved line tools to construct original artwork.
Students will be able to apply color and backgrounds to digital artwork by changing shape fills, line colors, transparency, and backgrounds, including the use of color transitions/gradients to create visual interest.
Students will demonstrate they can copy, paste, resize, rotate, and flip objects to efficiently create repeated shapes and designs while demonstrating control of digital art tools.
Students will be able to group and arrange multiple shapes to create patterns and designs, using repetition, rotation, flipping, alignment, and spacing to create an organized and visually balanced composition.
Vocabulary:
Alignment – Arranging objects so that their edges, centers, or other points line up with one another.
Background – The area or color behind the main objects in an artwork.
Border – The visible outline around a shape or object.

Pattern – A design created by repeating an element or group of elements.
Paste – To place a copied or cut object into a new location.
Resize – To change the width, height, or overall size of an object.
Rotate – To turn an object around a central point.
Shape – A two-dimensional enclosed area, such as a circle, square, triangle, or other form.
Spacing – The amount of distance between objects or parts of a design.
Stroke – The line or outline around a shape or object.
Symmetry – A type of balance in which parts of an artwork are arranged as mirror images or in a similar way.
