Born on Nov. 16, 1928 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Leslie and Irma Pool.

Keith was born with blood clots on his brain, which caused weakness to the left side of his body. As a boy he used crutches and his wagon to push himself around.
He was unable to manage the stairs at the school and so was taught privately for two years. After that, he was carried up the steps by some older boys and eventually had surgery to allow him to better use his legs.
He graduated from Geneva High School in 1948.
He moved to Lincoln and worked at Goodwill and then later to Virginia where he learned office skils.
In 1952, Keith moved back to Geneva to help his parents run the Geneva Hotel at 103 So. 10th.
In 1955, Keith began dispatching for REA of York. He did this from his home until 1994.
In 1967, Keith and his mother ran the Geneva Hotel.
In 1979, they sold the Geneva Hotel.
