1885 Charles A. Harvey & Co. was a branch yard of the Badger Lumber Yard from Fairmont.

1886 Charles A. Harvey purchased the branch lumber yard of Badger Lumber Yard in Geneva.

1887 H. H. Parkhurst and Bagley  had a lumber yard at this location.

1888 Kincaid & Burruss purchased the Parkhurst Lumber Yard.

1896 J. G. Burress – Lumber & Building Materials, Coal.

1900 M. Bolton of Davenport, Nebraska, purchased the lumber yard and coal interest of Mr. J. G. Burruss.  The Burruss family moved to Lincoln, Nebraska.

1902 Bolton & Bearnes dissolved their partnership.  Bolton continued the business.

1905 M. Bolton and R. T. Dowis began operating an artificial stone factory here north of Bolton’s Lumber Yard.  Geneva Cement Stone Co. office was at 162 So. 8th until 1906.

1906 Geneva Cement Stone Co. moved their office and factory to 909 C Street.

1907 M. Bolton moved the old office building to the east side of his lot and erected a new 22’ x 60’ office.  The old building was used for storing lime and cement.

1907 A Mr. Pauley became a partner in the firm and the name was changed to Pauley & Bolton Lumber Company.

1919 Louis C. Laun became manager of the Bolton Lumber Yard, succeeding C. C. Spangler who moved to Lincoln.

1920 The Bolton Lumber Company purchased the coal bins and coal of the Hynes Elevator Company in Geneva.

1930 Bolton Lumber Company built sectional hog houses, both single and double units.

1935 The M. Bolton Lumber Co. installed a new Fairbanks Morse scale.  It had the capacity of 24 tons.  It was installed in a cement pit on cement bases by Frank Murphy.

1943 A. Koehler Co. purchased the M. Bolton Lumber Co.

1947 A. Koehler Co. built a modern office for the lumber, paint and hardware department on the old Bolton Lumber Yard location.  Ben Koehler managed this part of the Koehler operation.

1968 The Chicago Lumber Company of Omaha purchased the A. Koehler Co. lumber business.  The name was changed to Geneva Lumber Co.

1985 The name was changed to Century Lumber Center by the owner, Chicago Lumber Company.  This was done to commemorate the fact that the parent company was over a century old.  Managers of the Chicago Lumber Company/Center have been Dale Gibbs, Dennis Wheeler and Ed “Butch” Hinrichs.

2017 Century Lumber was purchased by Shawn Meyer.  The name was changed to Geneva Lumber Center.

2022 Geneva Lumber Center closed.

2023 In April, KBK Creative Design, a screen printing and embroidery company, opened here.  The owners were Kurt and Blue Kapperman.
