Frank W. Sloan
Born August 16, 1872 in Monticello, IA to James W. and Elizabeth Sloan.
Died on February 13, 1927 in Geneva, NE
He was unmarried and had no children.
He was the brother of former Congressman Charles H. Sloan.
In 1892, Frank taught school in the northern part of Fillmore County and studied law in the office of his brother Charles.
In 1895, Frank was admitted to the bar and became associated with his brother Charles and John J. Burke.
From 1895 until 1899, he served as the deputy county attorney.
From 1899 until 1903, he was elected county attorney.
In 1902, Frank had an office at the bank.
In 1904, while the Fraternity Temple/Geneva State Bank fire was still burning, Frank Sloan, bank officer, got a team of horses and hurried out through the night to the home of Dan Goodrich and rented the Goodrich building. The bank people were able to open their vault and remove some of their furnishings to their temporary quarters and the next day they were ready for business at the opening hour at 874 G.
In 1905, he had an office at 122 No. 9th.
In 1910, he had an office at 892 1/2 G Street.
He was a former president of the First National Bank of Hastings and at one time owned and controlled 13 banks in Fillmore and adjoining counties.
He was director of the county fair association, a member of the Geneva Lodge 79, Masons, Odd Fellows and Knights of Pythias.
