1883 The State of Nebraska sold Lot 92 to Walter V. Fifield.
1884 Walter V. Fifield and wife sold Lot 92 to Daniel Hesse.
1890 Freeman Warren and wife sold Lot 92 to Elizabeth Jayne.
1890 This property was recently occupied by Al Ewald (Ewalt).
1890 In March, Eb Jayne purchased the Warren property recently vacated by Al Ewalt and planned to build a boarding house.
1890 In April, Eb Jayne moved his residence back and began construction of a large two-story boarding house on Court Street, east of the Cone Lumber Yard.
1892 The Sanborn Map shows a two-story frame building on this lot.
1896 A four room house was moved up to the east side of the Jayne Hotel to be occupied by Bert Bradley.
1896 Miss E. Jayne had been managing the Jayne Hotel, but was hired as the manager and moved to the Jameson Hotel.
1897 The Sanborn Map showed a two-story frame building, but a one-story addition was built onto the east side.
1899 Bert Bradley moved from the Jameson Hotel back to the Jayne property.
1902 The Sanborn Map did not show any changes to this property.
1909 The Sanborn Map remained the same as previous years, except that possibly a porch on the south side of the building was added
1912 The Jayne boarding house was leased by Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Smith and mother-in-law, Mrs. Mary James.
Note: There were many people that operated the rooming house over the years. The following is a list of some of them, with dates of operation are a best guess.
1922 The Sanborn Map had not changed since the last update in 1909.
1924 The Bradley rooming house was being managed by Minnie Bradley, who was a daughter of Elizabeth and Ebenezer Jayne.
1925 J. C. Bortner purchased two and a half lots east of the N. E. Thomas store occupied by the Jayne rooming house and the residence of Mrs. Minnie Bradley.
1928 The New Jayne Hotel was listed here in the phone book.
1933 The Sanborn Map shows the structure hadn’t changed. It was listed as a hotel.
1933 Mrs. Josephine Culp had leased the property and was operating it as a rooming house.
1934 The estate of J. C. Bortner sold the two and half lots to Carl E. Schneider.
1934 Carl E. Schneider and wife sold Lot 92 to Florence Bailor.
1934 After Florence Bailor purchased the property there seemed to be discord as Mrs. Culp refused to vacate the property.
1935 Mrs. O. L. (Florence) Bailor operated the Bailor rooming house
1935 Dr. J. Q. Adams moved his dental office to the Bailor Hotel building which was located two doors east of the N. E. Thomas store. His office was previously located in the post office building.
1939 Jack’s Cut-N-Curl Shop, Jack Moon proprietor, was located here.
1940 Jack and Elizabeth Moon managed the rooming house.
1943 The Sanborn Map showed a hotel on Lot 92.
1943 Florence Bailor sold Lot 92 to Joel C. Hickman.
1944 Loghry rooming house, managed by Mr. and Mrs. Claude Loghry.
1951 Estate of Joel C. Hickman transferred ownership to Hazel Hickman.
1952 Loghry’s were managing the rooming house.
1955 The Loghry Hotel building received a coat of paint which considerably improved the appearance of G Street. The building known to old-timers as the Jayne Hotel was owned by Mrs. J. C. Hickman.
1955 Mrs. Hannah Gilmore took over the operation of the former Loghry Hotel. Mrs. Gilmore leased the building from Mrs. Hickman. Hannah was not new to the hotel business as she operated a hotel from 1913 to 1919 which was located at 188 So. 8th Street.
1956 Gilmore rooming house was managed by Hannah Gilmore.
1957 Hannah Gilmore sold her rooming house business to Mrs. Juanita Houck.
1959 Hannah Gilmore took over the rooming house from Mrs. Juanita Houck. The Houck family moved to the Meridian Courts.
1964 Mrs. Hannah Gilmore moved from the rooming house to an apartment over the Cartwright business in the west block. The rooming house was then entirely vacated.
1966 Hazel Hickman sold the property to Fillmore County Bank.
1966 Fillmore County Bank, formed by brothers Joseph and John Bixby, started construction of their new building on G Street. The new building was constructed on the former site of the Jayne Hotel or as it was sometimes called in later years the Bailor, Loghry or Gilmore rooming house.
1967 The Fillmore County Bank and Bixby Insurance Agency moved into their new location in April. Their bank charter was approved in 1965. Since that time the bank and insurance agency had been sharing office space at Bixby Insurance Agency office, 143 North 9th Street.
1969 Fillmore County Bank installed a new sign outside the bank. It displayed the time and temperature in large flashing numerals.
1971 John Bixby retired as chairman of the board and president of Fillmore County Bank. He also announced that the bank had been sold to a group of Nebraska investors.
1983 Mid-West Ag Credit Corporation had an office located here.
1985 Mid-West Ag Credit Corporation was dissolved.
1986 Fillmore County Bank was shut down by the Nebraska Department of Banking and was reopened the following morning as a branch of York State Bank and Trust.
1991 Mierau & Nixon, CPA had a branch office here. Their main office was located in York.
1992 Fillmore County Development Corporation had offices here. In December they hosted an open house. They were previously located at 209 South 10th Street in the Wynne Transport building
DATE York State Bank, Geneva Branch, underwent extensive remodeling. The main bank was enlarged by using the space that was formerly the Lamplighter Café to the west.
1996 All American Insurance Agency moved to 141 No. 10th Street.
DATE Another major renovation closed in the atrium area to create more office space.
