1872 Vacant lot.
1887 The Union Block was built by G. W. Smith and J. M. Fillebrown. It was a two story brick building 48’ x 80’ with a full basement. It is not known if there was an entrance on the west side of the original building.
1936 The Union Block burned down.
1937 It was replaced by Eric Johnson--Johnson Hardware during 1937 and early 1938 with the main entrance on G Street. This address was one of two small storefronts on the west side which faced North 8th Street.
1938 Occupants for entrances other than Court Street prior to 1959 are unknown. It may have been used by tenants on G Street.
1959 The Kinder Accounting & Insurance Office, owned and operated by Helen Kinder, Ralph Kinder and Ida Marie Kinder, moved here from 896 ½ G Street.
1964 The address of Kinder Accounting & Insurance Office was listed as RFD 1 in the telephone book. That was possibly the Kiester-Walker building at 1st and F Streets.
1964 Sharron’s Beauty Shop, owned by Sharron Arbuck. Pat Quick worked here with Sharron.
1967 Sharron sold her shop to Mrs. Don (Mary) Tonniges of Gresham. The name was changed to Nu-Style Beauty Salon. Pat Sole was manager of the business which remained at the same location. In December the business was closed and the equipment was moved to Utica.
1975 The Anchor Inn opened at 806 G Street and moved into this area in order to have space for their extended kitchen.
1994 This building which housed the Anchor Inn Restaurant was completely destroyed by fire. It was not rebuilt and the lot remains vacant.
