At an early age, he moved with his family to Shickley, and then to Oklahoma.
He finished his schooling there.
The family moved to Kansas and then to Nebraska in 1905.
After their marriage, Frank and Emma homesteaded in western Nebraska until 1918.
Frank was a carpenter by trade and was connected to many homes and businesses in the area.
In 1919, Frank built the D. L. Smith Dairy Barn at 510 South 9th.
In 1925, Frank built the home at 327 No. 12th that was the center of his business.
In 1928, Frank built the rear fire escape to the Sunbeam Theater at 948 G Street.
In 1931, Frank built the filling station at 121 No. 13th and remodeled the Korner Kash Grocery at 1004 G Street.
In 1935, Frank helped build the scale at Koehler Grain at 702 G Street.
In 1936, Frank built the Tom Ewalt home at 263 No. 9th Street.
In 1937, Frank built the building for the pool hall at 836 G and the new building at 812 G Street.
