1872 Vacant lot.
1887 The Union Block was built by G. W. Smith and J. M. Fillebrown. It was a two story brick building 48’ x 80’ with a full basement. It is not known if there was an entrance on the west side of the original building.
1936 The Union Block was destroyed by fire.
1937 A new building was built during 1937- 1938 by Eric Johnson--Johnson Hardware. The main entrance was on G Street, with two storefronts on the west side which faced 8th Street. Occupant unknown.
1941 Selective Service Headquarters had their office here until about 1946-1947.
1948 The Do-It-Ur-Self Laundry opened here in February 1948. It was operated by Mr. and Mrs. Jack White who moved here from Los Angeles.
1948 In July 1948 the name and owner of the business had changed, but the location remained the same. Geneva Laundry was owned and managed by Mrs. Fae Montgomery.
1948 In September 1948, Mrs. Fae Montgomery sold her business to Mr. and Mrs. Owen Cartwright of York. They continued the business at the same location and name.
1951 Mr. and Mrs. Cartwright sold the business to Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Lichti. The name and address remained unchanged.
1954 Mrs. Claude Loghry operated the business for a short time.
1955 Geneva Laundry was still listed in the telephone book. No knowledge of the owner or manager.
1956 Occupants unknown.
1975 The Anchor Inn incorporated this portion of the building into the kitchen and storage area.
1994 This building, which housed the Anchor Inn restaurant at 806 G Street, burned down and was not replaced. It is now a vacant lot.
