Carl Schneider
Born May 8, 1898 in Shickley, NE to Herman and Mary Schneider.
Died August 25, 1980 in Lakewood, CO and buried in Geneva, NE
Married to Mildred Schneider.
Parents to Richard, Robert, Gertrude, Mary Joan, and Charlotte.
He moved with his family to Geneva after his father's death.
He attended Geneva Public School and graduated in 1917.
After volunteering for the Army, he served during the final months of World War I.
He began his career at Lincoln State Bank on Oct. 1, 1917.
On April 1, 1918, he came to the Geneva State Bank as a bookkeeper.
During his 62 years at the bank, he served as teller, cashier, vice president, executive vice president and chairman of the board.
He was also chairman of the board and president of the Farmers State Bank of Fairmont.
He was an active member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He was a member of the Geneva City Council, Community Club, and the Fillmore County Fair Board.
He was a member of the Crosier Lay Apostolate, Nights of Columbus and the Elks.
He was an avid golfer, bowler, and Husker football fan.
