1926 “Art” Sole Machine Shop
1938 In July, Chick Stofer was employed as an auto mechanic for Art.
1940’s Chick continued to work for Art into the early 1940’s.
1941 Ernest Sole was also employed by Art Sole.
1943 Chick Stofer moved Chick’s Repair Shop to the southwest corner of the intersection of Highway 81 and G Street. (1245 G)
1947 In May, Art Sole was selling Marquette home freezers, electric hand drills, bench grinders and welding torches.
1947 In October, Arthur Sole died in Denver, Colorado.
1948 In February, the machine shop and equipment were auctioned. Bernard Due purchased the shop and equipment, the sale did not include the Sole lots or residence.
1948 In April, Bernard Due auctioned Art Sole’s machine shop and equipment.
1949 In March, Pete Garrett had his plumbing business in Art Sole’s building.
1949 In May, Garrett Plumbing moved his business to 145 So. 10th.
1949 In October, Bob’s Body Shop, Bob Ekwall was located here. Mr. Ekwall was formerly employed at Shaner Chevrolet Co.
1952 In January, C & E Auto Parts advertised a special auto wash and wax on Saturdays, located in the rear of the Art Sole building, west side, Geneva. No further information has been located for this business.
1952 In April, Robert Ekwall formed a partnership with George Marine who recently moved to Geneva. They purchased 130 No. 8th Street.
1952 In June, after the renovations were complete, Bob’s Body Shop was moved to the new location at 130 No. 8th Street.
1964 Andrews Electric, Alfred Andrews proprietor, was located here.
