Walter Scott Huston
Born on January 28, 1849 near New Philadelphia, Indiana to Joseph and Eliza Huston.
Died on June 28, 1926 in Geneva, Nebraska.
Married Ida Sprout on February 3, 1886
Parents of five daughters:Â Beth, Faye, Ruth, Lela, Hazel and one son, Walter.
Early years were spent in Mercer County, Illinois.
After graduating from Monmouth, Illinois, college in 1870, he spent a few years in the mines of Utah.
Then he taught school in Iowa, Utah, and Nebraska.
In 1893, he purchased the Reed stock of groceries and queensware at 984 G Street.
In 1895, he sold seed corn and potatoes at 824 G Street.
In 1896, he sold seed at 818 G Street.
In 1897, he had a seed store at 996 G Street.
In 1899, he sold buggies and implements at 151-155 So. 10th.
In 1903, he moved his implement business to 806 G Street.
He was for a few years, the city treasurer and treasurer of the Fillmore County Fair Board.
