1948 In April, Bill Shaner opened a skating rink at the anniversary hall at the Fillmore County Fairgrounds. The floor was repaired and put into shape to make a fine rink. Two hundred pairs of skates were ordered. The decorations were a western motif. Music was furnished with records and an amplifier.

1948 In August, the skating rink was closed so the building could be used for the county fair. Bill Shaner, proprietor was building a new rink at the east edge of town and expected to open in a few weeks.

1948 In September, the new roller rink was nearing completion. The new rink was 120 x 50 feet with an annex 36 x 12 feet to be used as an office. The building had many large windows for natural light, a hardwood maple floor and spotlights overhead and at the corners.

1949 In June, Ye Ole Corral Roller Rink was reopened after being closed for a couple of weeks. The interior was redecorated as well as converting the heating system into a cooler with large fans to provide pleasant skating during the summer.

1954 Mr. Shaner added restrooms at the west end of the floor. He also added a kitchenette.

1959 United Marine Sales, Bill Shaner and John F. Edgecombe. Stored used boats and motors here, full line of accessories, sail boats, and aluminum boats. The business also operated out of 1045 H Street.

1972 Mike Shaner, the son of Bill and Blanche Shaner, managed the skating rink many years. He was assisted by John Evans and Earl Taylor. On Monday and Wednesday evenings the skating rink was open for grade school aged children. Daily attendance would range from 70 to 125 skaters. The rink was also open for private parties and special events.

1982 In February, the rink was closed until further notice. The business may have ceased about this time as no further reference was found in the local newspaper.

2000 The rink was torn down.
