1872 Vacant lot.

1892 Sanborn Maps show a dwelling here.

1893 C. M Barnett placed the following ad, “I have moved my hardware but not my implements. They will be on hand at old stand with newest line of implements when season opens at the lowest prices possible for good goods.”

1897 A frame building about 35’ x 75’ was located here. It is unknown when it was erected.

1902 Sanborn Maps list the use as agricultural implements.

1903 Hamler Bros. (Tom Hamler) rented the Barnett Implement House and converted it into a livery stable.

1904 Fred (Cap) Schneider bought the lots and the building on this site, where Cap continued the livery business.

1905 Cap Schneider sold the property to J. C. Ford who rented it to Dr. I. W. McEachran for a veterinary hospital and feeding barn. Cap Schneider bought the livery stock of Dinneen & Tracy and consolidated the two businesses and continued business across the street at 137 North 8th Street. Dr. McEachran was appointed deputy state veterinarian for Fillmore County.

1908 Dr. McEachran sold his veterinary practice and hospital business to Dr. J. A. Barger in April. Dr. McEachran arranged to practice with Dr. Tuck, who once also practiced in Geneva. EcEachran and Barger graduated from the same veterinary college. In November Dr. Barger sold his practice to Dr. H. V. Nothcomb of Shickley.

1909 Dr. Nothomb purchased the property from J. C. Ford’s widow. Dr. Nothomb, the local veterinarian, purchased a two-cylinder Maxwell car to use in making calls.

1910 Dr. H. V. Nothomb sold his property and veterinary business to Dr. I. W. McEachran, Geneva’s first licensed veterinarian. Dr. McEachran moved his veterinary business into the building.

1910 Dr. I. W. McEachran, veterinarian surgeon and dentist, had an office three doors north of the photograph gallery.

1916 Dr. McEachran remodeled his veterinary infirmary.

1947 Dr. L. C. Shaw joined his father-in-law, Dr. I. W. McEachran in his veterinary practice.

1951 Shaw & McEachran’s veterinary practice relocated to 102 North 8th Street.

1952 In June, Bob & George’s Body Service (Robert Ekwall and George Marine) had their business located here. Bob’s Body Shop was formerly located at 410 H Street.

1954 Bob’s Body Shop was located here. Bob Ekwall bought George Marine’s interest in the business. He also purchased the lot and building from Dr. McEachran.

1957 Nichols Construction Company bought the property. Use unknown.

1970 Lyle Olena purchased the property about 1970 and used the building for storage. In the mid 1970’s the building was torn down.

1987 Harold (Buzz) Sole acquired the property. It adjoined his business, Buzz’s Alignment on the north (vacant lot).
